AGRICULTURAL LIME INDUSTRY FORUM 2009

Following the successful 2007 Forum where major legislative and regulatory issues impacting on the agricultural lime industry were discussed, the consensus was to invite delegates to return to a follow up forum as developments progressed.  

New legislation, changing regulations together with potential new agronomic developments are all discussion items with industry leaders and government representatives for this next forum where experienced and informed opinion can be drawn together for this interaction of opinions.     

You are invited to join the Agricultural Lime Association – Lime Forum for further discussion on the following subjects:

  • Updated position of the UK & EU Soil Strategies and Consultation
  • Role of Lime in the prevention of Bovine Tuberculosis and Johne’s disease
  • Revision of the UK Fertiliser Regulations 1991 (with particular reference to agricultural lime classifications and specifications), update on the revision of RB209 Fertiliser Recommendations and the revised CoGAP     
  • Role of Soil pH in the control of Clubroot 
  • German Lime Quality Assurance Scheme – Is there a need for U.K. model?
  • New Soil Database aiming to help farmers optimise fertiliser use 

The Forum will take place at 10.30 am – 4.00pm on Wednesday March 18th 2009 at the Huntingdon Suite, East of England Showground, Peterborough PE2 6XE. (A buffet lunch will be provided)
