AGRICULTURAL LIME FORUM: NOVEMBER 2007

An agricultural lime forum took place on 28th November 2007 at the East of England Showground, Peterborough. The forum was arranged to enable dialogue between government departments, policy advisors and those with an interest in agricultural lime.

The effects of regulation on the industry featured heavily. The forum looked at the impact of the EU Soil Directive, the revision of RB209 guidelines as well as the revision of GB Fertiliser Regulations (1991), all of which will have implications for the lime industry.

In addition, the forum addressed the importance of agricultural lime to soil quality in terms of physical, chemical, biological, ecological and economical benefits. The minutes of the forum can be found below:
